Do It For The Love brings people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges, and wounded veterans to live music experiences.

  • People Living With Life-Threatening Illnesses

    Any person – adult or child – diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.

    Children With Severe Challenges

    Children under the age of 18 or over 2 with severe developmental challenges, physical, mental, or emotional disabilities, or living with intense family trauma.

    Can I apply for a live music wish grant if I have already been granted one by DIFTL?

    No. Recipients are only eligible for one live music wish grant from Do It For The Love.

  • Do It For The Love accepts nominations from:

    • Immediate family members with knowledge of the child or adult’s current medical condition

    • Close friends or colleagues with knowledge of the adult’s current medical condition

    • Medical professionals (typically a doctor, nurse, social worker, or child-life specialist)

    Do It For The Love accepts applications from:

    • Parents or legal guardians of eligible children

    • Medical professionals (typically a doctor, nurse, social worker, or child-life specialist)

    • Immediate family members with detailed knowledge of the eligible child or adult’s current medical condition

    Application Requirements

    Please submit a nomination or application at least 4-6 weeks before the event date of interest.

    How can I submit the diagnosis form?

    You can upload the completed diagnosis form directly to your application -OR- you can email the form to wishgrdiagant@doitforthelove.org.

    After submitting a nomination or application, how long does it take to hear back?

    We will contact you within two weeks of the submission date to inform you of the next steps.

    How many nominations may I submit?

    • Individuals may submit up to 2 nominations per year.

    • Healthcare organizations/representatives may submit up to 4 nominations per year.

  • Nominate someone you know.

    Please ensure that all information you provide is accurate and up-to-date.

    Our team will reach out to them on your behalf to complete our application process.

    You must first download the diagnosis confirmation form and have it completed by your physician before applying.

    • If invalid or incomplete information is provided, we will not be able to process your request.

    • Once eligibility is determined, the wish recipient will be contacted by one of our staff.

    • Inactive wishes expire 12 months from the date of approval.

    Receive event confirmation and instructions.

    • We aim to have event details secured two weeks before the event date, however, sometimes it takes longer. Due to hectic tour schedules, some artists are only able to confirm our requests last minute, giving us two or three days to confirm. If you don’t hear from a DIFTL staff member 24 hours before the event, feel free to reach out for an update.

  • How many tickets will I get?

    We provide up to four event tickets to the recipient and their family members, friends, or caretakers for a live music wish grant the nominee wishes to attend in the U.S. or Canada. Occasionally, we may only be able to provide two tickets to specific events.

    Can I travel for my wish grant?

    We suggest selecting a live music event reasonably close to your home. If necessary, we reimburse for ground transportation (including mileage, parking, and tolls) with receipts up to $150. If the venue is more than a two-hour drive from the recipient’s home, we reimburse for overnight accommodation for one room for one night at a hotel, up to $350.

    How do I get my tickets?

    We strive to have event tickets confirmed at least one week prior to the event date. However, due to the hectic schedule of tours, we may contact you 2-3 days before the event to inform you of how to get your tickets.

    Ways you may receive your tickets:

    • Downloading and printing your tickets

    • Accepting electronically transferred tickets on your mobile device

    • Picking your tickets up at will-call

    • Receiving your tickets by mail to your home

    Do I get to meet the artist or the band?

    We make every effort to provide a VIP or meet-and-greet experience with your artist of choice. However, a VIP or meet-and-greet experience is not guaranteed.

    Can I request to go to a music festival as my wish grant experience?

    If single-day tickets are available, a music festival may be requested for one of the days.

    Can I request to go to a music award show or competition show? (The Grammys, AMAs, The Voice, Etc.)

    No, unfortunately, we cannot fulfill requests for awards or competition shows.

    Can I request to go to a musical theater event?

    Events must include a major live music component to be eligible.

    What are the age requirements?

    All attendees must be age-appropriate for the requested event.

    Children under 18 must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Guardian.
